I am a community midwife passionate about women's issues in general, and maternity issues in particular. My aim is to (a) increase awareness of the benefits of midwifery around the world, and (b) keep more women and babies alive by teaching essential obstetric emergency skills. It's nigh on time worldwide governments put women's rights on the agenda, and shameful so many women and infants are still dying.

Introducing Katie as a token author - she will be managing me from the UK
Hi Katie. A couple of people have tried to comment but messages have been lost into the ether. Is it because they are not 'commenting as' correctly? Any ideas? I'd just like to be able to explain to friends as ignorant as me about these things (I thought I was the only one!)

It seems you can comment if you have a googlemail etc, you have to fill the dropdown box in!! I will need to play around. x Will keep you posted. x
